North Carolina’s comeback to beat Georgia Tech from a 21-0 second-quarter deficit set school records for both teams. It was the largest lead that Tech has given up in a loss in its modern era (1950 and forward) and also the Tar Heels’ largest comeback in a win.

Tech, incidentally, was part of one of two UNC comebacks that had prior to Saturday rated as the largest. The Jackets fell to North Carolina in 1987 after taking a 20-3 lead over the Tar Heels. North Carolina also came back to beat Virginia from a 17-point deficit in 1997.
