UGA football coaching staff

A look at Mark Richt's coaching staff at UGA.

It appears that UGA head coach Mark Richt is close to finalizing his staff for the 2011 season.

Washington Redskins assistant Kirk Olivadotti is expected to join defensive staff by the end of the week. Ex-UGA and current Redskins DE Phillip Daniels on Twitter: "UGA you just got one hell of a coach in Kirk Olivadotti."

Will Friend is the new offensive line coach. The former UGA grad assistant and All-SEC player at Alabama spent the last four seasons at UAB.

Mike Bobo has been the offensive coordinator since 2007 and was one of the driving forces behind the signing of UGA's highly-touted recruiting class.

Also key to the recent signing class was recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner, who also holds the titles of assistant head coach and defensive line coach.

The defense will begin its second season under Todd Grantham. Another year of experience in the 3-4 alignment figures to help UGA -- along with an influx of talent from transfers (most notably Jarvis Jones) and holdovers (Brandon Boykin, Alec Ogletree, many others).

Tony Ball has been a member of the UGA staff since 2006, first working with running backs and then receivers.

Former UGA player Bryan McClendon has been running backs coach for the past two seasons.

Former FSU recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach John Lilly has coached the UGA tight ends the past three seasons.

Scott Lakatos, a former UConn assistant, is preparing for his second season coaching the secondary.
