This year has already been a great year for Georgia Swim & Dive head coach Jack Bauerle, as the women’s team helped bring home the seventh national championship in Georgia history.

Now, Bauerle will get a chance to bring home some hardware for the men’s side. Bauerle was named an assistant coach to the men’s team. He will serve under head coach Bob Bowman.

Bauerle was the head coach of the women’s team in 2008. That year, the U.S. women brought home 14 total medals, with two of them being gold.

Bauerle has been the head coach of the women’s swim and dive team at Georgia for 37 years, and the men’s team for 33. Georgia will send four swimmers to the U.S. team, with three more qualifying for Canada. Bauerle will get to coach three of his own swimmers, as Chase Kalisz, Jay Litherland and Gunnar Bentz all qualified for the team.

The Olympics are set to begin Aug. 5 and end on Aug. 21.
