Former UGA linebacker Lorenzo Carter was selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft Friday.

Carter, who had the huge block of an Oklahoma field goal attempt in the Rose Bowl win over the Sooners, was the 66th overall pick in the draft, which lasts seven rounds and will conclude Saturday. Carter became the fifth UGA player drafted following second-round pick Nick Chubb and first-round picks Roquan Smith (No. 8, Bears)Isaiah Wynn (No. 23, Patriots) and Sony Michel (No. 31, Patriots).
