Tech transfer Fromayan’s waiver request approved

Aug 26, 2014

The NCAA has approved Georgia Tech’s hardship waiver request for offensive tackle Eason Fromayan to receive immediate eligibility. The NCAA posted the decision late Monday night, which grants him immediate eligibility. He will be able to play in Tech’s season opener Saturday against Wofford.

Fromayan, from Milton High, redshirted last year at TCU but transferred to Tech in May. He said then in a text message that he planned to request a waiver due to a family situation.

Fromayan is competing at backup tackle, mostly on the left side behind starter Bryan Chamberlain and Errin Joe. Offensive line coach Mike Sewak has been encouraged by Fromayan’s progress.
