Georgia Tech will play against Boston College in Ireland in 2016, according to a report in The Score, an Irish sports news website.

Tech and Boston College are scheduled to play their ACC inter-divisional crossover game in 2016 at Boston College. Tech senior associate athletic director Ryan Bamford had no comment on the grounds that it is Boston College’s home game.

In a statement, Boston College spokesman Chris Cameron said, “At this point our administration is reviewing many future scheduling options but it would be premature to speculate on specific dates or opponents.”

Ireland has played host to two FBS games in the past three years, Navy-Notre Dame in 2012 and Penn State-Central Florida this season, both in Dublin. According to the report, the game would be played at Croke Park, an 82,300-seat stadium in Dublin that is headquarters for the Gaelic Athletic Association.

It would be Tech’s first-ever game played off of American soil. It is not a short trip. Atlanta and Dublin are separated by about 3,900 miles, about an eight-hour flight.
