Georgia Tech will open its 2021 season against Kennesaw State. The game will be played Sept. 4 at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The agreement was confirmed by Tech senior associate director Ryan Bamford.

It continues the school’s plan to schedule nearby opponents as part of its non-conference schedule. Tech played Georgia Southern this year and will play Mercer, which began play last season, in 2016. School officials have also had discussions with Georgia State. Kennesaw State, coached by former Tech assistant Brian Bohannon, began practicing this season in preparation for its first season in 2015.
