Georgia Tech junior RB Jonathan Dwyer is a potential first-round NFL Draft pick. Dwyer declared for the 2010 draft Jan. 11.

But the Jackets posted an 11-3 record for 2009, winning the ACC Championship. Dwyer (21, center) helps hoist the trophy Dec. 5, 2009, in Tampa.

While at Cobb's Kell High School, Dwyer was a star running back and was one of the AJC's Super Southern 100 picks as a prep prospect.

Originally recruited by former Tech coach Chan Gailey, Dwyer flourished under current Tech coach Paul Johnson (center) in his triple option offense, emerging as one of the nation's top RBs as a sophomore in 2008, Johnson's first season at Tech.

Against archrival Georgia, Dwyer (21, right) had 144 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 20 attempts during the Nov. 29, 2008, victory. Tech topped UGA 45-42.
