Georgia Tech guard Gary Brown announced on his Twitter account that he has left school to pursue an art career. Brown was a redshirt freshman this past season and played in five games.

“If those haven’t heard by now I’m leaving GT to pursue my Art career,” Brown wrote. “I’d like to thank all the fans of GT for always supporting the team!”

Behind starting guards Trey Braun and Shamire Devine, Brown was unable to win much playing time this past season. As a first-year freshman in 2014, he was named the offensive scout team player of the year and made a distinct impression on coaches and players.

“I know this,” linebackers coach Andy McCollum said in November 2014. “When you’re on defense and you’re lined up across from him, you’d better get ready, because he’s coming to get somebody.”
