When choosing a college, punter Pressley Harvin wanted to choose the school that gave him the best chance to play early.

“I love competition, that’s one thing about me, but to start off my career early and be able to start my true freshman year is what I was kind of reaching for and I know I have a chance to do it,” Harvin said.

If the 6-foot, 235 pound Harvin receives the starting role at punter in the fall, he will replace Ryan Rodwell who completed all years of his eligibility in 2016.

Ranked the third best punter in the nation by 247 Sports, Havin said he was told by his recruiter, offensive line coach Mike Sewak, and coach Paul Johnson that he has the role.

“I’ll come right in and start because I see any other players there and they told me that I don’t have to worry about anything,” Harvin said.
