Tech commit Gentry Bonds visits Tech for Miami game

Georgia Tech commit Gentry Bonds visited Tech this weekend for the Yellow Jackets’ game against Miami.

The father of Gentry Bonds, Rodney Bonds posted a picture to Twitter of he and his son visiting Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday. Bonds, his father and his brother Mackey Bonds experienced one of Atlanta’s attractions by eating at the Varsity before kickoff.

Bonds, a 6-foot-1, 192 pound cornerback from Murfreesboro, Tenn., chose Tech on Aug. 18 over 16 other offers, according to 247 Sports.

Although the Jackets lost to Miami 35-21, Bonds enjoyed every moment of his visit.

“I just really enjoyed the fans and enjoyed being on the field before the game,” Bonds said. “It’s just home.”

In his senior season with the Riverdale High School, Bonds and the Warriors sit at 4-3 so far this season. In their most recent game against Siegel High School, Bonds had eight tackles and one interception in the Warriors’ 16-13 win. Bonds’ next game is against Oakland High School in Murfreesboro on Oct. 14 after the Warriors’ bye week.
