Reinhardt 52, Cumberland 18: The No. 8 Eagles remained perfect after their 52-18 victory over Cumberland on Saturday.

Reinhardt (7-0) continued to utilize their running game to dominate opponents. The team totaled 405 yards on the ground, compared with the Bulldogs’ 155. Four Eagles running backs accounted for five of the six offensive touchdowns.

L.J. Stegall led the team with 111 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Followed by Sam Jones who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Deonte Dennis scored twice on the ground, and Niagel Curtis also rushed for a score.

The Eagles defense also put points on the board with a safety early in the fourth quarter and a late 24-yard interception return. Jacob Gross and Marcus Miller led the team with 12 tackles apiece.

Cumberland (3-4) fell behind early and was unable to answer the bombardment of scoring by the Eagles. After the Eagles opened the scoring, Cumberland responded with a short-yardage touchdown run of their own. However, Reinhardt scored three more times before Cumberland scored again.

Cumberland scored the first two touchdowns of the second half, but the Eagles answered with four consecutive scores to seal the outcome.
