SEC schools will receive approximately $20.7 million each from the league’s revenue-sharing pool for the 2012-2013 fiscal year, commissioner Mike Slive said today.

The total distribution of $289.4 million is a record for the league, up from $244 million last year and up from $127.6 million five years ago.

The revenue-sharing plan consists of money generated by football and basketball television contracts, bowl games, the SEC Championship football game and the men’s basketball tournament, as well as the league’s revenue from NCAA championship events.

Also, at the SEC’s spring meetings today, conference presidents and chancellors adjourned without voting on a proposed conference-wide substance-abuse policy that would have subjected athletes at all schools to the same penalties for positive drug tests.
