An SEC team could play bowl game in Las Vegas

The SEC is reportedly the “most intriguing possibility” to replace the Mountain West Conference as the Pac-12’s opponent in the Las Vegas Bowl once the city completes its new NFL stadium in 2020, sources confirmed to college football insider Brett McMurphy on Thursday.

The Las Vegas Bowl’s change in locations will correspond with the end its 19-year relationship with the MWC, which was last represented by Boise State during a 38-28 victory against Oregon in December.

The bowl game currently takes place at UNLV’s Sam Boyd Stadium, but will move once the soon-to-be Las Vegas Raiders have their new stadium built. The projected 65,00-seat domed stadium is expected to be completed around June 2020.
