Through four practices this spring, Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Ted Roof has liked seeing something that isn’t actually taking place on the field.

“In the third year in the system now, we’ve got some guys that know the details of it, and the older players, you can see them starting to help the younger players, like when they come off on the sideline, telling them what they did wrong,” Roof said.

About 15 members of the defense have been with Roof since his hire in Jan. 2013, including cornerback D.J. White, defensive tackle Adam Gotsis and safety Demond Smith.

“That’s the type of culture you want to continue to develop that just perpetuates itself, and that’s good to see,” Roof said.
