Could former Georgia quarterback Jacob Park transfer to Alabama? ESPN’s Joe Schad reported that Park told him Thursday that he will visit Tuscaloosa this weekend.

If true, the visit still wouldn’t mean he will land with the Crimson Tide. Even though no quarterback at Alabama has emerged publicly as the clear choice to replace Blake Sims, the Tide has plenty of contenders.

Senior Jake Coker, junior Alec Morris, sophomore Cooper Bateman, redshirt freshman David Cornwell and January enrollee Blake Barnett appeared to exit spring practice on mostly equal ground, at least as coach Nick Saban framed it.

The perception that the Bama job is open for taking may have contributed to former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson’s interest in the program before he transferred to Florida State. Also, reports that surfaced before Golson’s decision to attend FSU indicated that Alabama had an interest in Golson.

Park reportedly told Schad that he was “very close” to signing with Alabama after high school.

Park redshirted last season and would have three seasons of eligibility, should he transfer to an FBS school. He could play immediately at an FCS school and would have four seasons of eligibility.
