A handful of Georgia Tech players recorded a variety of firsts against Tulane Saturday.
Ends KeShun Freeman and Tyler Stargel and nose tackle Shawn Green all secured their first career sacks. Cornerback Lawrence Austin and safety Demond Smith intercepted their first passes. Both interceptions were converted into touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets.
Smith made the start at strong safety in place of Isaiah Johnson, who was held out of the game with a hamstring injury.
Linebacker Anthony Harrell returned to action after suffering a knee injury against Syracuse last October.
