Perkins held out of practice again

Sept 17, 2014

Georgia Tech A-back Charles Perkins’ chances of playing Saturday against Virginia Tech do not appear good after he missed practice again on Wednesday with a left leg injury. He has yet to practice this week.

“We’ll see if he practices (Thursday),” coach Paul Johnson said.

Perkins was injured in Tech’s win over Georgia Southern Saturday. Perkins has started the Yellow Jackets’ first three games and has been an effective perimeter blocker. He also has nine carries for 111 yards, including a career-long 63-yard run on the game’s first play last Saturday against Georgia Southern. Possible replacements in the starting lineup include Deon Hill and B.J. Bostic. Johnson has used a rotation at A-back including the aforementioned three, Tony Zenon and Broderick Snoddy. Dennis Andrews played his first game of the season Saturday against Georgia Southern.
