Paul Johnson gives Matthew Jordan injury update
Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson gave a guardedly optimistic update on quarterback Matthew Jordan, who suffered a leg injury early in the fourth quarter of the Yellow Jackets’ loss to Clemson Saturday.
“We don’t think it was as serious as we thought during the game,” Johnson said Monday following the team’s practice.
Johnson sent Jordan into the game with the idea of giving starter TaQuon Marshall a break to settle himself. Jordan quickly got the offense moving, advancing the ball 25 yards in four plays on four keepers before suffering the injury.
If Jordan can’t play Saturday against Virginia on Saturday, the backup to Marshall would be either Jay Jones or Lucas Johnson.
“We’ll see through practice,” Johnson said. “I probably know who it is, but it’d depend.”
