Notes from Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson’s media availability on Thursday following the team’s 19th practice of the preseason.

1. Johnson gave praise to wide receiver Brad Stewart, saying that the senior has "had a really good camp." He said likewise that junior wideout Jalen Camp "was having a good camp" until being sidelined for about a week. He came back three or four days ago, Johnson said.

2. Offensive lineman Andrew Marshall, whom Johnson said Wednesday was "banged up in practice" that day, is "fine."

3. Freshman linebacker Jordan Domineck has done well in the preseason and is working with the "varsity," Johnson said, meaning the starters and backups expected to play.

Johnson also said that he thought freshman cornerbacks Jaylon King and Zamari Walton could see the field this season.

“Right now, I think we’ve only got, I think, seven corners total, so I think they have a chance to play,” he said.

Other freshmen whom Johnson has indicated will play are wide receiver Malachi Carter, linebacker Quez Jackson and guard Austin Smith. Safety/linebacker Charlie Thomas and safety Juanyeh Thomas are also possibilities.

4. Johnson said that he has identified the player he wants to return kickoffs.

“But I’m not sure our (assistant coach) that’s running the kickoff return has (decided), so we’ll talk about it and see,” Johnson said. “Hopefully it’ll be the same guy.”

5. Johnson on freshman quarterback James Graham: "He's doing well. He's the third quarterback."
