Georgia State’s offensive line worked with an interesting combination of starters at Monday’s practice.

Redshirt junior Sebastian Willer started at right tackle, junior Alex Stoehr at guard, redshirt sophomore Gabe Mobley at center, redshirt senior Michael Ivory at left guard and redshirt freshman Hunter Atkinson at left tackle.

Willer started four games at left tackle last season. Ivory started the other nine. Coach Trent Miles said Ivory has played tackle the previous two seasons out of necessity, but that he is naturally a guard.

Stoehr has been a two-year starter at guard, and Mobley started 11 games last season at center.

Atkinson moved from tight end to tackle before the spring practices.

“Right now, that’s been the best grouping,” Miles said.

Miles said there are other players who are competing to crack the starting lineup, including Dom Roldan, Shamarious Gilmore, Nick Meyer, Tyler Simonsen, Akil Hawkins and Lucas Johnson.

“We have to be strong,” Miles said. “When you build the deal, it’s always from inside out.”

Stoehr weighs 299 pounds, Mobley 280 and Ivory 340. They should be able to get a good push up the middle for a running game that needs to improve this season after averaging less than 100 yards per game last season.
