Safety Lance Austin, wide receiver Ricky Jeune and special teams player Jalen Johnson were named Georgia Tech’s players of the week following last week’s 31-17 win over Virginia.

The Yellow Jackets (7-4, 4-4 ACC) will play at Georgia (7-4, 4-4 SEC) on Saturday.

Austin had an interception that he returned for a touchdown and three pass break-ups to earn the weekly award, which also resulted in being named the ACC’s defensive back of the week..

Jeune caught just one pass, but his blocking downfield was key. Johnson credited Jeune with a good block on Marcus Marshall’s 67-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Johnson, a redshirt sophomore, had one tackle on a kickoff return in the fourth quarter. Johnson and teammate Christian Campbell were reinstated for the Virginia game after being suspended on Nov. 2 because they were allegedly involved in an incident at a Tech fraternity. Johnson was arrested by campus police and charged with simple battery. Campbell was not charged.

Tech coach Paul Johnson declined on Monday to discuss the reinstatement of the players.
