Notre Dame basketball coach Mike Brey gave his approval to his new Georgia Tech counterpart Josh Pastner. Brey spoke at the ACC spring meetings Wednesday.

“He’s really good,” Brey said. “This is a high-energy guy. He certainly has a reputation of getting players, so their recruiting is really going to get rolling. He’s a great addition to the league, as is Kevin Stallings at Pittsburgh, a proven guy who’s won.”

Notre Dame has had a competitive series with Tech since joining the ACC for the 2013-14 season. Playing twice a season as permanent partners, the Irish are 4-2, with all of the games by decided by eight points or fewer.
