Chris Martin

Height and weight: 6-foot-2, 260 pounds

What to know: Martin chose Georgia Tech because of the competitive academic programs and football program, the closeness to home and the relationship he formed with the coaching staff, according to his high school coach, Mickey Conn.

Conn on what Martin liked about Tech: "Georgia Tech has a great academic history. I think football-wise they're very competitive as well. They have a great tradition there with football. He really liked the coaches there, and it's 30-35 miles away, so it's close to home, too. I think those are the two factors."

Conn on Martin's visits to Tech: "He went as a junior. He was going to all their games and watching them as just a fan. He watched them play and really enjoyed the way they played. I don't know if he was a Georgia Tech fan as a kid or not, but I know he really took a ton of visits there as a junior and just really liked the atmosphere and enjoyed going to the games."

Conn on Martin's commitment as a junior in high school: "He's a committed person. When he says he's going to do something he sticks to it. I think once he made that decision to commit there, he wanted to stick with it because that's important to him as a person."

Conn on coaching Martin in high school: "There's a lot of things that make him special. I would say he's a great person, great kid and great teammate, but as an athlete, he's a very explosive player and someone that always gives 100 percent whether it's at practice, in the game or in the weightroom during the offseason. He's totally committed to the team and willing to do for the team whatever it takes."
