It has been more than a month since UGA was upset by Texas in the Sugar Bowl.

That loss is still fresh on the minds of many current and former Georiga players, including Mecole Hardman.

- Bradley: Texas was ready. Georgia wasn't. End of story

Hardman, who left UGA early for the NFL Draft, is training for the NFL Combine at Michael Johnson Performance training center in McKinney, Texas. Hardman was asked about the Sugar Bowl by the Star-Telegram's Drew Davison this week:

“There’s no excuse for us losing the Sugar Bowl,” Hardman said. “We should’ve won that game. There’s no excuse for how we played.”

Hardman was also asked about UGA being left out of the College Football Playoff. Hardman said the playoff committee made the “right choice” but also restated his claim that the Bulldogs were a top-four team.

“We could’ve proved that by beating Texas, but we didn’t, so I guess there’s some questions that say we weren’t a top four team. I think in reality we all know we were a top-four team.”
