The best college basketball teams will play in the Georgia Dome for the Final Four. Some of the best players not participating will show off their games not far away.

Georgia Tech's McCamish Pavilion will be the site for the 25th annual college slam dunk and 3-point shooting contests, the latter of which will have men's and women's competitions. The event will take place the evening of April 4, the Thursday leading up to the Final Four weekend. The competition will be broadcast on ESPN.

Intersport, which is producing the event, did not have participant information available Tuesday. Past participants include NBA greats Steve Nash and Gary Payton. Tech’s Mario West won the slam-dunk competition in 2007, the last time the Final Four was in Atlanta. The Georgia State Sports Arena hosted the event that year.

Tickets to the event are on sale at the Tech ticket office, on ramblinwreck.com and at 1-888-832-4849. More information is available at collegeslam.com.

Tech, which is the host institution for the Final Four, will also open up the Zelnak practice facility for the Division II and III teams that will be playing for their national championship at Philips Arena on April 7, the day between the Division I semifinals and finals.
