Georgia Tech quarterback TaQuon Marshall’s strong play was recognized Friday when he was added to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is given to the player of the year by the Maxwell Football Club in Philadelphia.

Marshall was one of 13 players added to the list. The initial preseason list was 85 players deep. Ironically, former Tech B-back Dedrick Mills was among the 85 but was dismissed from the team and transferred to Garden City (Kan.) Community College.

Marshall leads Tech with 523 rushing yards and is responsible for 13 touchdowns (nine rushing and four passing). His rushing yardage total is 14th nationally and his nine rushing touchdowns are tied for second.
