TRE SWILLING

Position: DB

Committed: Aug. 22

Height, weight: 6-foot, 185 pounds

High school, hometown: Brother Martin, New Orleans

Ranking: 3-star

What to know: Since Tre Swilling became the 10th member of Georgia Tech's 2017 class, he's been a recruiting force for Tech. Swilling encouraged his own brother — Bruce Jordan-Swilling — to commit to Tech one day after Swilling's commitment and also had a small role in influencing fellow commit Cortez Alston. The son of Tech great Pat Swilling, Tre Swilling is expected to play cornerback as a Yellow Jacket.

WHAT HE SAID

On why he chose Tech: "Sitting down and talking to my family and really sitting down on my own and looking at the pros and cons of each program that I was considering, I think Georgia Tech had (more) pros than any other program as far as continuing the legacy that the Swillings have had at Georgia Tech and also rewriting it and putting my own foot down and making my mark."

On wanting to play cornerback at Tech: "I would play anything to help the team out but (cornerback is) what I personally want to play. I think my length and range and my physical toughness should allow me to dominate in any conference or any level."
