Former Georgia Tech quarterback Vad Lee will be transferring to James Madison.

Lee made the announcement on his Twitter account Monday, writing “I am so grateful for the 3 years at Tech. But I am excited for another great opportunity to be a part of the James Madison University family!”

Lee made the decision to leave Tech after three seasons and one year as the Yellow Jackets starter.

James Madison is an FCS team, meaning Lee will have immediate eligibility and will have two seasons remaining. The Dukes have a new coach, Everett Withers, who had been an assistant coach at Ohio State for one season and at North Carolina for the previous four.

James Madison plays in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Dukes will open the season at Maryland Aug. 30.
