1. The Owls will host the Bulldogs, located in Boiling Springs, N.C., in their first conference game. The Bulldogs are 2-3, 1-0 with a 34-20 win over Liberty, the same team that defeated Georgia State 41-33.

2. The Owls are coming off a 56-17 win over Point, an NAIA school. The Owls rolled up a Big South Conference record of 699 yards. They are averaging 43 points, 341.6 rushing yards and 141.2 passing yards per game. They are allowing averages of 16.2 points, 139.8 rushing yards and 147 passing yards per game.

3. Gardner-Webb is averaging 16.6 points and 254.2 yards per game on offense. They are allowing averages of 19.8 points and 303.4 yards per game.

Player to watch: Kennesaw State offense

AB Chaston Bennett. He led the Owls in last week's win with 70 rushing yards and two touchdowns and 90 receiving yards with another touchdown to set a single-game scoring record in the program's short history. He scored on runs of 13 and 14 yards and a reception of 69 yards. He has averaged 73.4 rushing yards and 20.8 receiving yards per game.

DB Derrick Farrow. He ranks second on the team behind Taylor Henkle with 20 tackles.

Player to watch: Gardner-Webb offense

QB Tyrell Maxwell. He rushed for a career-high 173 yards and three touchdowns, while passing for 105 yards in last week's victory. He was named the Big South Conference offensive player of the week. He has averaged 97.8 rushing yards per game this season.

LB Chad Geter. He had a team-high 10 tackles, including a sack, last week to earn Big South Conference defensive player-of-the-week honors. He leads the team with 50 tackles.
