Georgia State’s R.J. Hunter won his fifth Colonial Athletic Association rookie of the week award on Monday.

Hunter averaged 18 points and four rebounds to help the Panthers go 2-1 with wins over Towson and North Carolina-Wilmington before a loss at Drexel. Georgia State (10-12, 5-4) will play at Northeastern on Wednesday.

According to Georgia State’s sports information department, Hunter is one of six freshmen in Division I averaging at least 16 points and 5 rebounds per game this year.

Hunter leads all CAA freshmen in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
