R.J. Hunter became the first player in Georgia State history to repeat as an honorable mention on the AP All-America basketball team Monday.

Hunter, a junior, announced Monday that he was going pro after averaging a team-high 19.7 points this season.

Hunter, who was named the Sun Belt Conference men’s player of the year for the second consecutive year, led Georgia State to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Other Georgia State players to receive All-American honors are Shernard Long in 2001 and Thomas Terrell in 2002. Jim Adams was named an Academic All-American in 1966.
