Parkview High running back Christian Malloy and Rome High defensive lineman Ja’Quon Griffin signed letters of intent with Tech on the first day of the late signing period. Malloy committed previously to Florida International. Griffin chose Tech over Tulane and Appalachian State.
“We got on (Malloy) a little bit late, but we always kind of followed him,” coach Paul Johnson said Wednesday. “He had a knee injury early on his junior year, and I think that limited his recruitment a little bit early, but after we watched him play this year, it was pretty clear to us that he had regained his speed and mobility, especially toward the end of the year.”
