Georgia Tech received its second commitment for the 2019 class, running back Devin Ellison of Jacksonville, Fla. Ellison, a three-star prospect rated the No. 121 player in the state of Florida (247Sports composite rankings), announced his decision Saturday.

Ellison, from Bartram Trail High, reported an offer from Tech on March 27, the same day that he paid a visit to campus.

Ellison, 5-foot-9 and 182 pounds, was named a second-team all-state running back in Class 7A this past season. He also received scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Purdue, Kentucky and a number of Ivy League schools. Jacksonville has been productive recruiting grounds for Tech and assistant coach Lamar Owens, who is assigned to that city. Former Yellow Jackets Antonio Simmons and Step Durham are from Jacksonville, as are current team members Victor Alexander and Lamont Simmons.

A possible A-back, Ellison would join the team following the senior seasons of A-backs Clinton Lynch and Qua Searcy. Tech’s first commitment was Grayson High safety Jeremiah Smith, who committed in February.
