Georgia Tech has selected its four captains for Thursday’s season opener at Clemson – wide receiver Jalen Camp, safety Tariq Carpenter, linebacker David Curry and left tackle Zach Quinney.

They are unsurprising selections – Camp, Carpenter and Curry all wear single-digit numbers, privileges awarded by coach Geoff Collins for their embodiment of team values. Quinney has been praised for the commitment he has made to changing his body to adapt to Tech’s change in offensive schemes and, while a sophomore, has had a leadership role on the offensive line.

The team made the announcement Tuesday from its Twitter account. Collins will select different captains for each game. At Temple last year, the Owls had 28 different game captains in their 13-game season.
