Georgia Tech gets good news on injury front

Nov 15, 2016

In post-practice comments made Monday, Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson expected his offense to be considerably healthier for Saturday’s game against Virginia than it was for last Saturday’s win over Virginia Tech.

Quarterback Justin Thomas, center Freddie Burden and A-back J.J. Green are “good to go,” according to Johnson. Thomas and Burden missed the game against the Hokies, won 30-20 by the Yellow Jackets in Blacksburg, Va., with upper-body injuries. Green missed the past two games with a right leg injury.

Even though the Jackets were able to upset the Hokies without them, it’s a considerable lift. All three have played at a high level at their respective positions.

For Thomas and Burden, their health has the added benefit of allowing both to play on senior day in their final game at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Tech plays the Cavaliers at 12:30 p.m.
