Georgia Tech incoming freshman Andres Martin has earned a spot in the Wimbledon boys singles tournament, joining a 64-player field that includes the best amateurs 18-year-old and under in the world.

Martin, from Flowery Branch, is No. 93 in world junior rankings and earned his spot in the Wimbledon field by winning two rounds of qualifying matches Thursday and Friday.

First-round play began Saturday, with Martin’s match scheduled for Monday. He is one of 10 American players in the field.

Martin also is entered in the boys doubles tournament.
