Georgia Tech players took to the practice field Tuesday morning with new gold face masks attached to their gold helmets. It’s not a certainty, but would hardly be a surprise if the Yellow Jackets were to wear them against Temple on Saturday.

Tech has been wearing dark-blue face masks with both the white and gold helmets. It’s believed that Tech has not worn gold face masks previously in a game. It is a distinctive look and one that undoubtedly has at least some motivation in recruiting, given the appeal that a sharp uniform look can create among prospects.

It’s one of a number of uniform tweaks that have been made this season, including new gold jerseys, a re-design of the white helmet and a special onyx-gray uniform that the team will wear against North Carolina on Oct. 5.
