Georgia State running back Kyler Neal may be done for the season.

Neal underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday morning to repair damage to his meniscus, discovered during an examination earlier this week.

Neal, a redshirt sophomore, suffered an injury to his right knee in Saturday's 31-19 win over Ball State. He is the team's leading rusher with 246 yards on 65 carries.

Coach Trent Miles said Neal could return in four weeks, but it depends upon how quickly Neal heals.

Running back Taz Bateman, who suffered a broken arm in the second game against New Mexico State, is participating in non-contact drills on Wednesday. He is scheduled to have an X-ray on his arm on Monday to see if the bone has healed.

The Panthers (2-4, 1-1) will play at Arkansas State on Oct. 31.

Georgia State’s running game now features Demarcus Kirk and Khai Anderson. Marcus Caffey is focusing on academics and likely won’t return by the Arkansas State game.
