Georgia State’s football team started preseason camp Thursday very healthy, according to coach Trent Miles.

The only exception is freshman wide receiver Jonathan Ifedi, who underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his wrist. He could return by the beginning of October. Ifedi played at Vance High School in Charlotte.

The Panthers return several key players at wide receiver, led by all-Sun Belt performers Penny Hart (71 receptions for 1,099 yards last season) and Robert Davis (61 for 980). The group also returns Todd Boyd (25 for 296).

Miles said the only notable position change heading into camp was moving Khai Anderson from running back to cornerback. Anderson was a two-time all-region selection as a defensive back at Riverwood High.

The Panthers have as many as seven players competing for playing time at running back.
