Frank Hassell and Ben Finney each recorded a double-double and Old Dominion defeated visiting Georgia State 60-43 on Tuesday night.

Hassell had his 11th of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Finney added 11 points and 10 boards.

Kent Bazemore chipped in 12 points for the Monarchs (21-6, 12-4 Colonial Athletic Association), who won their fifth in a row over the Panthers (11-15, 6-10). It was also the seventh win in the past eight games for Old Dominion.

The Monarchs made 40.7 percent from the floor in the second half.

Georgia State pulled to within six points, 45-39, on Harold Doby’s dunk with 4:43 to play. The Monarchs answered with a 15-3 run, capped by Bazemore’s free throws with 11 seconds left.

James Vincent had 11 points and 11 rebounds, his first double-double, to lead the Panthers.

Mercer 57, Kennesaw State 55: Brian Mills made a layup with 3.3 seconds remaining to give Mercer a victory over visiting Kennesaw State.

The Owls (8-18, 6-10 Atlantic Sun) trailed 31-23 at halftime, and fell behind by as many as 10 in the second half, but a 7-0 run by Kennesaw State made the score 42-41 with 9:09 remaining.

Mills scored 16 points to lead Mercer (12-15, 9-7), winners of five out of its past six games.

Markeith Cummings produced his second 30-point performance of the season for the Owls.

Teammate LaDaris Green had 13 points and 14 rebounds, his fifth consecutive game with a double-double.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Owls.
