Georgia State football will play a four-game home-and-home series against Alabama-Birmingham beginning in 2027, GSU announced Tuesday.

The schools are scheduled to alternate home games for four consecutive seasons. The Panthers will play host to the Blazers on Sept. 18, 2027, and Sept. 22, 2029, and the teams will meet in Birmingham on Sept. 16, 2028, and Sept. 21, 2030.

In a news release, Georgia State said the series is a result of the program “looking to add more regional matchups to the football schedule.”

Georgia State and UAB have never played each other in football, but they had games scheduled for 2015 and 2016 that were canceled.
