Georgia Southern coach Willie Fritz said he hopes the loss of four senior offensive linemen won’t affect the production of one of FBS’s most-productive offenses last year.

“We led nation last year in rushing,” Fritz said. “Big part of that was our offensive line.”

The Eagles went 8-0 in the Sun Belt Conference in its inaugural year by averaging 39.08 points and 381.1 rushing yards per game.

Lost from that team were All-Sun Belt players and starting linemen Logan Daves, Garrett Frye, Manrey Saint-Amour and Deion Stanley.

The new line features three upperclassmen, a sophomore and a redshirt freshman.

“It’s going to create an opportunity for guys who played a little bit last year to step up and take a starting role,” Fritz said.

The Eagles will open the 2015 season on Sept. 5 at West Virginia. The kickoff will be 7:30 p.m. The Eagles will receive $850,000 for the game.
