“Have to stay consistent,” Georgia Southern director of golf Larry Mays said. “In a three-round tournament, you can’t have a bad round.”

The regional includes (in order of seeding): Illinois, Oregon, UCLA, Alabama, SMU, UNLV, Virginia Tech, Georgia Southern, Colorado, New Mexico State, East Carolina, Marquette, Alabama State and Pennsylvania.

The Eagles are No. 46 in golfstat.com’s rankings after winning the Sun Belt tournament and four other top-three finishes.

The team is led by Scott Wolfes, the Sun Belt player of the year, who has a 70.86 stroke average. Kim Koivu was also named first-team all-conference.
