The Dawg Walk, Redcoats and tailgating are among the gameday traditions at UGA.

Football is important at Georgia, and so are the traditions that surround it. The Dawg Walk, revived during the 2001 season, is a great way for fans to get close to players as they make their way to Sanford Stadium.

Tailgating is a tradition before every college football game, and it's no exception at UGA. The university has eased restrictions, so fans will again be allowed to use tents on North Campus. Also, they'll have more time for their pre-game parties, five hours instead of four.

The Redcoat Band provides the soundtrack for gamedays, from playing "Krypton Fanfare" to the fight song.

Fans expect to see an English bulldog on the sidelines. With the unexpected death of Uga VIII (right), stand-in Russ will continue to wear the red sweater for as much as two-thirds of the 2011 season before a new dog is introduced.

UGA was a trend-setter with its hedges, with six other SEC stadiums having copied the concept. But Athens is still the only place where they completely surround the field. One gameday tradition Dogs players try to prevent: Opponents plucking a branch after a win.

The Chapel Bell is rung after a UGA victory. The tradition began in the 1890s when the playing field was located near the Chapel.
