A brief look back at the last 30 years of the Georgia-Clemson rivalry.

Georgia and Clemson will meet for the 64th time Saturday in a rivalry that dates back to 1897. The matchup, which still has national championship implications, is led by Georgia, 41-18-4.

1982: A year after having its season spoiled by a loss to Clemson, Georgia survived the season opener against the defending national champions in Athens 13-7 and went on to play Penn State in the Sugar Bowl for a national championship. The Bulldog victory was Clemson’s lone defeat of the season.

1984: Clemson came to Athens as the No. 2 team in the country. The Tigers raced out to a 20-6 lead before the Bulldogs engineered a second-half comeback that was capped by a 60-yard field goal by Kevin Butler with 11 seconds left to play, giving Georgia the upset win.

1994: The come-from-behind Georgia win in 1984 was followed by Clemson winning three of the next five meetings. In 1994, Georgia's maligned defense held the Tigers scoreless for nearly 50 minutes, forcing four Clemson turnovers, two of which led to 10 of Georgia's first 23 points.

1995: Coming off a shellacking by Alabama, (31-0), Georgia stumbled mightily against Clemson, who blocked a pair of field goals and a PAT.

2002: After a six-year hiatus, Clemson and Georgia rekindled their rivalry. Clemson's place kicker Aaron Hunt missed a field goal attempt in the third quarter, and another in the fourth quarter, helping the Bulldogs squeak by to a 31-28 win.

2003: The defending Southeastern Conference champions gave Clemson their first shutout at home since 1998. It was also the first time Georgia held the Tigers scoreless in 15 games since a 12-0 defeat in 1978.

2013: After consecutive games, the rivalry would lay dormant for nine years. Clemson's defense, which was one of the biggest question marks in the game sacked Georgia's Aaron Murray four times. But it was injuries that hurt Georgia the most. Todd Gurley ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns, but was hobbled by a quad injury. The team also lost leading receiver Malcolm Mitchell to a knee injury early in the game when he celebrated Gurley's scoring run.
