Georgia tailback Nick Chubb suffered a left-thumb injury in practice this week and was wearing a protective cast for Saturday’s game.

Whether the thumb was broken could not immediately be confirmed. In any case, Chubb was dressed out for the South Carolina contest. The freshman from Cedartown is a backup but was Georgia’s second-leading rusher in the opener against Clemson. He 70 yards on four carries and scored on a 47-yard run.
