The Georgia Bulldogs have played in 52 bowl games, dating back to their first-ever appearance in the 1942 Orange Bowl.

Georgia won its first consensus national title the following year at the Rose Bowl.

The Bulldogs return to Pasadena, Calif., Jan. 1 to face the Oklahoma Sooners in the College Football Playoff semifinal. The winner will advance to the national championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Bulldogs have appeared in 17 different bowl games. They are tied for fourth in college football in bowl appearances and wins (30).

They defeated the TCU Horned Frogs, 24-17, at the Liberty Bowl last season.

Georgia has appeared in the Sugar Bowl (9) more times than any other post-season game. They won a national championship there in 1980.
