Four Georgia football players were named first-team All-SEC by the league's coaches Tuesday:  linebacker Jarvis Jones, tight end Orson Charles, offensive tackle Cordy Glenn and safety Bacarri Rambo.

The same foursome was named to the Associated Press' All-SEC first team the day before.

Three Georgia players made second-team All-SEC in the coaches' vote:  quarterback Aaron Murray, center Ben Jones and cornerback Brandon Boykin. Murray and Jones were named to the second team in the AP's media vote as well.

The coaches voted Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson ahead of Murray, as did the AP panel.

Wilson was the SEC's leading passer, throwing for an average of 285.2 yards per game. Murray was second at 220.1 passing yards per game.

Wilson completed 63.1 percent of his passes and Murray 58.8 percent. Wilson threw for 22 touchdowns with six interceptions, while Murray had a league-high 33 TD passes and 12 interceptions.

The SEC won't publicly announce the coaches' all-freshman team until Thursday, but Georgia said Tuesday that two of its players are on it: tailback Isaiah Crowell and wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell. Crowell was named the league's freshman of the year by the AP on Monday.

Richt a finalist

Georgia's Mark Richt has gone from the hot seat to a coach of the year candidate.

Richt, whose job was considered in peril before the Bulldogs went on a 10-game winning streak and won the SEC East, was named Tuesday among 10 FBS (formerly Division I-A) finalists for the Liberty Mutual coach of the year award.

The other finalists: LSU's Les Miles, Alabama's Nick Saban, Arkansas' Bobby Petrino, Clemson's Dabo Swinney, Virginia's Mike London, Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, Michigan's Brady Hoke, Kansas State's Bill Snyder and Louisiana-Lafayette's Mark Hudspeth.

The winner will be chosen by a combination of fan voting (www.coachoftheyear.com) and a selection committee. The winner will be named Jan. 9, the day of the BCS title game.

Richt has two seasons remaining on his contract, and Georgia is expected to offer an extension. UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said Monday that he hopes to meet with Richt by the end of the week or soon thereafter.
