Emory senior Gabrielle Clark won the NCAA Division III women’s singles championship Saturday in Claremont, Calif., the second NCAA singles title of her career. She defeated Jordan Brewster of Amherst 6-2, 6-1.

Clark, the No. 1 seed, lost only three games to the No. 3-seeded Brewer en route to raising her record to 24-4.

In a five-match run to the championship, Clark won in straight sets in each contest and lost more than two games in a particular set only once.

Clark is the second player in Emory history to win two national championships, joining Mary Ellen Gordon (2003-04). Clark and Gordon are two of three Eagles to have national titles to their credit with Lorne McManigle (2009) the other.

Clark finished her career at Emory with a singles won-lost record of 108-21. She ranks second all-time at Emory behind Gordon’s 115 wins.
